Global Investors Meet in Bangalore

The Karnataka Government initiated a two-day ‘Global Investors Meet’ (GIM) in Bangalore on Thursday in a bid to woo potential investors, entrepreneurs and global business firms to the region for exploiting multifaceted avenues and exploring potential business opportunities in the region. Hence the theme of the event was also ‘Advantage Karnataka-One State, Many Opportunities’. This business event attracted top-notch honchos including he participation of Kingfisher Chairman Vijay Mallya, Wipro CEO Azim Premji and Steel Tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, who discussed business ventures in Karnataka.


The Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) is not just a conclave of industry captains; a platform from which to explore the opportunities being offered by Karnataka to expand their businesses. It is the beginning of a mission. A mission to transform the approach of our youth towards their careers and life. Inspiring them to transform from being mere job-seekers to job makers. Its an opportunity to apply the better educated and skilled human resource for the development of a prosperous economy.

The state government hopes to attract Rs4,00,000 crore in investment proposals at the GIM which is expected to be attended by over 3,000 delegates. This event calls for investments in various sector including a High-Speed Rail Link in the city of Bangalore, a Bangalore Sub-City Project and a Power grid of 12000MW to be harnessed from thermal, gas, hydro and solar energy sectors.

Karnataka’s government expects to sign MOUs for about Rs 6 lakh crore of investment during the two-day Global Investors Meet. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said he will roll the red carpet and remove all the red-tape for promoting these investments in various business ventures in state.
